Objectives

The objective of the Specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is to provide solid theoretical/practical training in the clinical-therapeutic skills involved in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is achieved through the historical, theoretical, and practical foundations of the cognitive and behavioral approach involved in this therapy. This is based on the analysis of the techniques, instruments, and tools necessary for an ethical, relevant, and dynamic therapeutic practice, in line with the current needs in which we are all immersed.

The ultimate goal of the Specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program is to offer the necessary conditions, relevant theoretical foundations, tools, and instruments for the practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Entry Profile

Candidates eligible for the specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy include:

1. Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Psychology (in any variant) or Psychiatric Medicine.
2. Holders of a higher foreign academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor's degree in Psychology by the Scientific Council of UniPiaget. Other applications considered suitable may also be evaluated, belonging to professionals who wish to have and/or deepen their knowledge in this area, after curriculum analysis and a possible interview by the Scientific Council (or a selection committee) of the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde.
