As part of World Day to Fight Malaria, which is celebrated on April 25th, the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde (UniPiaget of Cape Verde) hosts, during the 25th and 26th of April, the 2nd Edition of the Conference "Malaria in the PALOP", which this year has as its theme “Malaria and other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes: From elimination to prevention of reintroduction”.
The “Malaria in the PALOP” conference constitutes a platform for experts from the PALOP (Portuguese-Speaking African Countries) to collaboratively address the challenges posed by malaria/malaria in their respective countries. The main objective of the Conference is to facilitate meaningful discussions, share crucial knowledge and promote collaboration to effectively control and eliminate the transmission of malaria and its vectors.
This year, the Conference expands the theme to include other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, as several diseases transmitted by this vector plague the PALOP. Therefore, this year's event features experts with skills in different areas of vector diseases, from different parts of the world, such as Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Ethiopia, the United States, Spain and Cape Verde.
The Conference takes place in a hybrid format, both in person, at UniPiaget in Cape Verde, and virtually, with transmission via the Zoom platform. The event will be conducted in English, given the linguistic diversity of the participants.
All participants can register directly using the form on the page www.malarianospalop.org,, as well as submitting a poster, until April 22nd.
