The Bachelor's Degree in Civil Construction Engineering integrates a very diverse range of subjects in order to provide solid technical-scientific training in the field of engineering, complemented with knowledge from the field of architecture, as the professions are increasingly complementary to each other.
The main activity of Civil Engineering is the design, project, and operation of systems that, taking advantage of natural resources, allow their proper use by the population. The course, covering subjects as vast as Materials Mechanics, Hydraulics, and Systems Engineering, will train sufficiently versatile professionals, enabling them to work in very diverse sectors (construction of buildings and bridges, hydraulic works and exploitation of water and environmental resources, regional and urban planning, infrastructure, and transportation systems) and, sometimes, even complementary sectors.
It is expected that professionals from this university will have the best acceptance in the job market, performing in various sectors, as professionals in the field of Civil Engineering, technical functions for the business fabric (construction, project, and planning companies) as well as public servants (Central, Regional, and Local Administration) and making an important contribution to the development of the country.

Taking into account the particularities of Cape Verde, the course structure was revised to allow technical training through options, awarding the degree of "Bachelor in Civil Engineering" at the end of the course. Additionally, these higher technicians will have:
