The United Nations delegation in Cape Verde held, on April 7 and 8, 2026, the international workshop entitled "STI4SDG Baseline Assessment Validation and Roadmap Development Pathway Workshop".

The meeting brought together experts from various institutions, who engaged in discussions on issues related to information management and data sharing across different sectors.

During the workshop, consultant Rui Levy, recently awarded a PhD by the university, presented a panel entitled "Key Findings of the STI Baseline Assessment". The Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde was represented by Professor Wlodzimierz J. Szymaniak.

For research centers, the importance of funding scientific research was highlighted, as well as the flow of information resulting from conducted studies.

The workshop also underscored the relevance of the blue economy in the insular context of Cape Verde, emphasizing the role of scientific research in promoting the sustainability of coastal areas.
