The newspaper A Voz do Archipélago celebrated its first anniversary on March 27, 2026, by promoting a conference on digital journalism. The Universidade Jean Piaget embraced the initiative due to the relevance of the topic for Communication Sciences students and the academic community in general. The event featured Dr. Pedro Lopes, Secretary of State for Digital Economy, who highlighted UniPiaget’s role in implementing ICT in the country’s media ecosystem. The conference allowed for an exchange of viewpoints between journalism professionals such as Álvaro Ludgero Andrade (Voice of America) and the academic representatives Prof. Ana Martinho (European Journalism Observatory), Prof. Silvino Évora (UNICV), and Prof. Wlodzimierz J. Szymaniak (UniPiaget). The debate was moderated by Prof. Nardi Sousa (Universidade de Santiago). In addition to the university audience, several industry professionals were present, including Marcos Fonseca, Director of Rádio de Cabo Verde, who shared insights on new journalistic formats, such as podcasts, with second-year Communication Sciences students.
