On May 20 and 21, 2026, a delegation from the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde, led by the Rector, Dr. Joanita Cristina Rodrigues, participated in the Southern Rivers Universities Meeting, held at the Université Assane Seck de Ziguinchor in Ziguinchor, Senegal.

The UniPiaget delegation also included Dr. Gertrudes Silva de Oliveira, five undergraduate students from the programmes of Psychology, Architecture, Communication Sciences, Translation and Intercultural Studies, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as one student from the Master's programme in School Administration and Pedagogical Supervision.

The meeting brought together universities from Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea and Cape Verde, with the aim of strengthening academic and scientific mobility within the African sub-region and promoting South-South cooperation through knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and joint development.

The participation of the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde in this important academic forum reinforces its institutional commitment to the internationalization of higher education, university diplomacy, and the creation of opportunities for students and lecturers to join academic and scientific cooperation networks beyond national borders.
