The Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde launched, on May 18, a training program for 17 Municipal Police officers, within the framework of the university extension project “Accessible Communication for Security Agents”.

The training activity is being conducted by deaf students from the Educational Sciences course, accompanied by a professor from UniPiaget’s inclusion area. The objective is to strengthen the officers’ communication skills in assisting people with disabilities, promoting a more inclusive and accessible approach.

During the training, participants will have contact with practices and communication methods that facilitate service and interaction with deaf people, contributing to a closer and more inclusive service.

The initiative is part of the institution’s university extension program and reinforces the university’s commitment to social inclusion, citizenship, and closer ties with the community.
