The Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde held the Research and Academic Defenses Summit, an event dedicated to reflecting on the role of higher education, scientific research, and academic quality in the country’s development.

The opening of the summit was presided over by the President of the Higher Education Regulatory Agency (ARES), João Dias, and also featured an intervention by Marcelo Marujo, President of the Institute of Science, Technology and Global Sustainability of Brazil.

Throughout the day, two doctoral thesis defenses, two master’s dissertations, and three monographs were presented, highlighting the university’s academic and scientific dynamism.

Integrated into the programme of UniPiaget’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the summit represented a true showcase of the vitality of scientific research within the institution, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, knowledge production, and the development of Cape Verde.
