
The Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde held a ceremony dedicated to the memories of UniPiaget’s 25 years on May 5 at the institution’s Media Library.
The event was attended by the President of the Piaget Institute, Dr. António Oliveira Cruz, who expressed his gratitude for the history built over these years, highlighting the university’s growth and the contribution of all those who have been part of its academic and institutional journey.
During the ceremony, several personalities linked to the institution shared memories and testimonies compiled in the commemorative work celebrating UniPiaget’s 25 years.
The occasion was marked by the launch of the commemorative book “Roots, Paths and Horizons”, dedicated to the institution’s 25th anniversary.
During the presentation of the book, the guest of honor, Dr. Daniel Medina, highlighted the university’s role in training professionals in different fields of knowledge and citizens capable of understanding and transforming reality. In this context, he reinforced the importance of a transdisciplinary approach in higher education.
Throughout his speech, he also emphasized that, over the past two and a half decades, UniPiaget has consolidated itself as a true space of opportunity for thousands of young Cape Verdeans, strengthening an institutional culture based on cooperation, academic responsibility, and the appreciation of knowledge.
The ceremony also included the symbolic delivery of the first copy of the book to Dr. António Oliveira Cruz.
The event further featured the launch of the scientific journal “Contacto”, presented as a space for academic dialogue, scientific production, and knowledge sharing.
