The Education Sciences and Educational Praxis course is part of the tradition of the Piaget Institute which, since its foundation, has been concerned with Education, making commitments to its democratic implementation and providing educational opportunities, without restrictions of any kind, in a broad vision of what the educational act should be. The Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde, by embracing this tradition, seeks to respond to the expectations of Cape Verdean society, which values education, considering it as a factor that generates progress and equality.
Aiming to contribute to improving educational quality, this course was reformatted to integrate variants linked to the teaching of transversal subjects, namely Education for Citizenship and Human Rights, in addition to a curricular renewal of the contents of existing variants – Training of Trainers, Supervision Education and School Administration, Inclusive Education.
Professional Opportunities
Graduates in Educational Sciences and Educational Praxis will be able to carry out teaching and/or education management/planning roles; guidance/supervision; training in school institutions; training of trainers.
Depending on the variant chosen, students will be recognized as teachers of disciplines or transversal areas such as Education for Citizenship and Human Rights; vocational advisors, teaching assistants in meeting special educational needs; pedagogical supervisors; school directors/managers; trainers of trainers in organizations and/or employment and vocational training centers.
