Our Master's in Applied Economics offers a solid education with an advanced level of knowledge in economic theory and econometric models. This allows the development of the ability to apply theory, methods, and techniques to provide answers and create new and numerous solutions to existing problems in any sector of economic activity, both in the public and private spheres.
Objectives
Entry Profile
This master's program is intended for graduates in Economics and Management who wish to acquire a more solid and applied education; graduates or master's degree holders in other areas of knowledge with a solid background in quantitative methods who are interested in developing their knowledge in the fields of economics and management.
Other applications deemed appropriate may also be evaluated, belonging to professionals who aspire to have and/or deepen their knowledge in economics, following a curriculum analysis and a possible interview by the Scientific Council (or a selection committee) of the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde.
Employability
A Master in Applied Economics is a professional capable of developing their activities in study offices of ministries, strategic offices, planning departments, consultancy offices, and opinion polling of public, private, and non-governmental organizations, multinational companies, higher education institution departments, and market research companies.
Organization
This course comprises four semesters totaling 120 credits, and at the end, a Master's degree is awarded. Students who have successfully completed the coursework (the first two semesters - 60 credits) can obtain a Postgraduate diploma or continue their studies in the subsequent semesters (third and fourth - 60 credits) with the preparation of a Master's thesis or the development of a project accompanied by a descriptive report. Both the thesis and the project work must be presented before a jury in a public defense.
